Bimal Trivedi
During lunch and tea breaks at my workplace, many time I got opportunities to talk to my boss Prof Joshi about my extra-curricular activities. Such meetings on Mondays will start with a usual question from Prof Joshi – what did you do on Sats and Sundays. I will start narrating my experiences with a story – about my visit to a new place around Mumbai. Going for a small or a moderate trek was my fixed activity for Sundays mostly with Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). Many times, Prof Joshi asked me to write down my experiences, which I ignored as I was a ‘lazy’ person.
One day while I tried narrating my experience of Ulhas River trek (starting point Khandala), Prof Joshi ‘threatened’ me of unfavorable consequences if I do not put my story in black and white.
So here is an opportunity to thank Prof Joshi and thank Shastri Johnson C Philip for providing a platform. Ultimately it took one Joshi-ji and one Shastri-ji to shed my laziness and write about leisure activities.
There is one more gentleman to thank is my friend Jitendra Dave, who had introduced me to the nature abound around my small town.

Lets start a small trek:
